It is a well established allied health profession that uses music therapeutically to address behavioral, social, emotional, communicative, physical, sensory motor, and\/or cognitive functioning. In this session, the therapist will review the case history and evaluate the individual&#8217;s musical strengths and needs as well as determine their response to music therapy interventions. After the assessment, the therapist follows the individual treatment goals in the delivery of weekly music therapy intervention. The assessment typically takes 2 sessions to complete.[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;How long does it last?&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1456945256675-383bd879-c58f&#8221;]Individuals are generally seen once a week for 45 minutes, dependent upon need and availability. Progress is evaluated and treatment may last from several weeks to several years. No long term contracts are required and clients may choose to discontinue service at any time. Currently we only accept Aetna and Cigna. We do not accept BCBS, Humana, or United Healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>Georgia Core Medicaid (Katie Beckett) does not reimburse for music therapy services. However, individuals on the Georgia Medicaid NOW\/COMP waiver program can use funds for music therapy.[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=&#8221;Can we get financial assistance with the cost?&#8221; el_id=&#8221;1456945426995-3e6c0b7d-76fd&#8221;]Financial assistance may be available for families that qualify.
